From Urbino, following the Metauro Valley, we will reach the Monte della Luna Reserve, a long dirt track immersed in lush forests, swimming pools and natural waterfalls where it is easy to jump for a swim. Going down towards the small lake of Montedoglio, you begin to recognize the typical Tuscan hilly landscape. We will arrive in the afternoon in the city of Sansepolcro, the main center of the Valtiberina, or the valley of the Tiber river. Night in the farmhouse
Heading to Val D’Orcia, we will cross an area of wooded hills on dirt and winding tracks. One by one parade medieval villages and castles on the top. The pleasure of traveling adds to the commitment of driving. This stretch is really interesting. In the afternoon a nice stop at the Bagni di Sanfilippo. Night in the farmhouse
Early morning visit to the historic center of Radicofani, a really beautiful stone village. Then we will direct our motorcycles south towards Orvieto. Continuing towards our destination we will cross the Amerini Mountains, we are on the sub-Apennines on the Tyrrhenian side, it is beautiful to cross one of the largest holm oak forests in Central Italy. In the meantime, we have entered Umbria. Finally, gentle cultivated hills announce the beautiful medieval Umbrian city of Todi. Hotel near the historic center to allow you to visit the citadel.
Just a half day by motorbike, afternoon dedicated to the thermal treatments offered by the Bangi di Triponzio. Ancient spa. Really nice and restful.
To reach the farmhouse and the thermal baths We will leave the Tiber and its wide valleys to enter the Valnerina, this is the valley of the Nera river which, from its sources in the Sibillini Mountains, descends impetuously in this very narrow stretch.
The Valnerina is famous for the “flowering of lentils” which takes place from the end of May to the middle of July. Night in the farmhouse
A bit busy day! The Valnerina is rather closed and will keep us busy at least up to Colfiorito, in front of us the Sibillini Mountains, in some places a bit stony. The view is absolutely wonderful and liberating. We will go down to Gubbio in the afternoon to stay at the Agriturismo.
At this point in the journey, the kilometers weigh. The last stage is a pleasant “in and out” of dirt tracks and small rural roads. Gently sinuous until it touches very small agricultural centers of the valleys furrowed by the Burano River. Off-road there is to get lost almost up to Urbino. Night in the same hotel as the departure
